he Notebook PC with internal modem model complies with JATE (Japan), FCC (US, Canada, Korea, Taiwan), and CTR21. The internal modem has been approved in accordance with Council Decision 98/482/EC for pan-European single terminal connection to the public switched telephone network (PSTN). However due to differences between the individual PSTNs provided in different countries, the approval does not, of itself, give an unconditional assurance of successful operation on every PSTN network termination point. In the event of problems you should contact your equipment supplier in the ?rst instance.
Overview
On 4th August 1998 the European Council Decision regarding the CTR 21 has been published in the Of?cial Journal of the EC. The CTR 21 applies to all non voice terminal equipment with DTMF-dialling which is intended to be connected to the analogue PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network). Installation and use of this wireless LAN device must be in strict accordance with the instructions included in the user documentation provided with the product. Any changes or modi?cations (including the antennas) made to this device that are not expressly approved by the manufacturer may void the user?s authority to operate the equipment. The manufacturer is not responsible for any radio or television interference caused by unauthorized modi?cation of this device, or the substitution or attachment of connecting cables and equipment other than manufacturer speci?ed. It is the responsibility of the user to correct any interference caused by such unauthorized modi?cation, substitution or attachment. Manufacturer and its authorized resellers or distributors will assume no liability for any damage or violation of government regulations arising from failing to comply with these guidelines.
